  • Menu for Visiting Team Food in Marlins Park

    by Joe Capozzi
Yankees fans coming to Marlins Park on Sunday and Monday can look forward to eating assorted knishes.

Cardinals fans on Opening Night can look forward to St. Louis-style ribs.

Dodger dogs when the Dodgers are in Miami. Bison Burgers when the Rockies come to Marlins Park.

Among the many amenities at Marlins Park this year will be concession items that either can be found at the visiting team’s home park or are traditional to that team’s city.

On the first significant homestand this season, Marlins Park will sell smoked brisket sandwiches when the Astros are in town.

Chicago dogs will be sold when the Cubs come to town. Corn Beef Reubens will be sold at Mets games in Miami.

As a Pittsburgh native, I’m curious about what they’ll see when the Pirates are in town — The Slugger, which I’m told is Levy Restaurant’s version of the Primanti Bros. steak sandwich on sourdough bread topped with French fries and vinegar-based cole slaw.

Here’s the complete Marlins Park visiting team menu, courtesy of Levy Restaurants.

    Team Menu Item

    NY Yankees Assorted Knishes

St. Louis Cardinals St. Louis Style ribs w/fries

    Houston Astros Smoked Brisket Sandwich

    Chicago Cubs Chicago Dog

Arizona Diamondbacks Southwest Burger w/ Pepper Jack and Chipotle Aioli

    NY Mets Corn Beef Reuben

Pittsburgh Pirates Pittsburgh Slugger (Levy’s version on a Primanti Bros. steak sandwich on sourdough bread topped with French fries and vinegar-based cole slaw.)

    Colorado Rockies Bison Burger w/Fries

    San Francisco Garlic Parmesan Fries

    Washington Nationals Half Smoke Sausage

Atlanta Braves Pulled Pork Sandwich with coleslaw

    Tampa Bay Rays Cuban Burger

Boston Red Sox NE Lobster Roll

Toronto Blue Jays Poutine (Loaded Fries w/gravy and cheese curds)

    Philadelphia Phillies Philly Cheesesteaks

San Diego Padres Fried Shrimp Taco

    LA Dodgers Dodger Dog

    Milwaukee Brewers Bratwurst w/Kraut

    Cincinnati Reds Cincinnati Chili Dog
    Palm Beach Post
God would be expecting a first pitch breaking ball in the dirt because humans love to disappoint him.

He gon bitch about it not being Skyline chili even though it'd be a pain in the ass to eat chili on top of spaghetti in a baseball seat without a table.

Ehe yeah I thought that too.

"Um, what do we got for Arizona? Nothing? Hmmmm... just slap some pepper jack cheese on a burger. What? Uhhh, we'll call it a southwest burger. That sounds regional enough."

Also fail on the fried shrimp tacos, should be grilled mahi

For them to call them cheese coneys. It's kinda like if they had went with "hot dog from Los Angeles"

Except everyone has heard of Dodger Dogs. I would imagine I'm not alone in never having heard of a 'Cheese Coney" as a type of hot dog specifically from Cincinnati.

I would imagine most people would hear "Cheese coney" and not think "Special Cincy Hot Dog!" They would think it was New York something.

If your schtick is that you're featuring food from the opponent's city, you should call that food by its name.

Wouldn't you want to call something a name that is indicative of what it is, unless that name is widely known? They are trying to make money, after all.

                        Golly, you're being tremendously nit-picky.
