Imagine if we had a competent ownership and front office. This team could be in the playoff hunt every year. If nothing else fun to watch. Cabs and Stanton in the same lineup would be beyond sexy.

I don't think Beckett is even close HOF worthy and I don't even know if he's the best pitcher we've brought up.

If you compare his age 22-28 numbers with JJ's (Both rookies at age 22, JJ was 28 last year), you get

Beckett: 3.83 ERA, 115 ERA+, 1164 IP
JJ: 3.14 ERA, 133 ERA+, 904 IP

There's a ~200 IP gap there in favor of Beckett but a huge gap in ERA in favor of JJ.

Averaged a .906 OPS with 25 home runs and 39 stolen bases per season over his first five seasons. He was absolutely on a Hall of Fame track before he inexplicably started being completely mediocre.
