To continue this discussion with Omar about me worrying Boni is already regressing to more of what his career ultimately dictates. During this recent stretch of games where the Marlins have lost 7 of 8 he's walked only 2 times while striking out 11 going 3 for 31. I obviously didn't expect him to keep up his quick start but this is a straight nose dive right now in terms of his numbers. It's great he's making pitchers work since he fouls a lot of balls off but they are ending up in strike outs rather than walks/hits.

Well, the strikeouts thing is gonna happen. He didn't even drop his K rate last year. It was basically the same as 2010 and higher than 2009.

Well, he did go from 20% K under Gonzalez in 2011 to 19% under McKeon.

I just noticed he doesn't have an XBH this year. Not that I expect many from him but he did have 26 doubles and 7 triples last season.

His .Iso was like .095 last year, which was a very pleasant surprise.

His K/BB for the year is basically the same as last year so I don't see the big deal with that.

He actually came into the day with the second best .OBP on the team. Only Morrison has been better and Infante passed him today, but those two also have less plate appearances.

It's more about the way he currently trending so where he stands in terms of the team doesn't really do much for me anyways. It could be just a funk he's in like several others but he isn't walking the same way he was at the start of the season and it really further hinders the offense. He's been stuck on 9 SB for about 6-7 games now.

Maybe it's because we've faced more lefties recently.

For some reason, he's been absolutely terrible as a right-handed hitter this year. His AB's have been much better against right-handed pitching.

Off the top of my head, he's always had worse BB/K ratios as a RHB, but he's had crazy BABIP. I could be wrong.
