Even in supposedly big seasons like '03-'05, we made most of our moves at the deadline, even when holes were obvious. We just haven't shown the willingness to pull the trigger before that.

Hopefully Gaby turns things around soon or we have a change of heart.

INF Greg Dobbs was back at first base, meaning .194-hitting Gaby Sanchez was on the bench for the third consecutive game. Manager Ozzie Guillen, though, will not commit to Dobbs becoming the regular first baseman. "Right now we got a better offense. Will that change? Maybe. I got to put the best guy out there to help us win games and right now we're desperate to win games," Guillen said.
