Festa, your only difference between under 24,999 and between 25-44,999 is the word grounds?

Out of curiosity, has anyone looked this up? Is it the usage of words generally based on size of the facility or is it usually based on whether the facility is multi-purpose or not?

When I think of Grounds, I think of the makeshift ballparks from the 19th century that held 10-15k seats on a large piece of land.

The usage is all marketing. Since the fauxback era began, the preference has been to use anything that is not stadium. The only facilities that use Stadium in MLB are Yankee, Dodger, Kauffman and Angel Stadium. All of them were built in the time when the word Stadium was used to distinguish from the brick and wooden ballparks from the late 19th and early 20th century.

Someone consult a dictionary. I honestly don't think it makes a difference by definition but I can see how ballpark does have a nicer ring to it.

On Tuesday, March 6, the Miami Marlins will play against the University of Miami. The game will have a 10,000 fan capacity. On Wednesday, March 7, the Marlins will take on FIU and a total of 15,000 tickets will be sold for this game. The first pitch for all three games is set for 7:10 P.M. Single game tickets to the UM and FIU games will go on-sale January 27 at 10:00 A.M. at marlins.com.
