This would matter if we weren't a zillion games out of first.
Morrison has been god awful this year. Probably deserved being sent down last month. Really aren't many backup plans, but Peterson can probably do just as a good a job in LF.
As for Wes Helms, it's a pretty unimportant move. However, given how much people randomly bitch about him, it'll probably make this thread go 20 pages.
Maybe the front office is trying to shake up Morrison by sending him down? I have no idea.
I just wonder who is coming up. We really don't need another outfielder with Petersen, Cameron, Wise and Stanton. And Bonifacio and Amezaga can play out there, too. Like has been said, Petersen is probably going to play everyday in LF. Dominguez is on the DL so he's not coming.
He's around 1 year 30 days of service time right now. Meaning, keeping him up the rest of the year (+/- 45 days) has absolutely no bearing on any arbitration status (Super2 level 120-130 days down the road). The Coghlan move smells like Super2 savings, but there is really no financial motivation here with Morrison.
He was hitting better in August a little bit. I am perplexed.
But rejoice in the Wes Helms experiment finally ending I shall!
