(I looked it up and he was granted FA Oct 28th, 2002 and signed by the Marlins Jan 28th, 2003). So teams weren't knocking down his door exactly. Did he work out for us ? Yes, but it was far from a certainty. No one knew how he would do and he was actually being brought in to be a pitchers catcher, not an offensive threat, much like Buck.
This right here is absolute insanity. Lunacy. Derangement of the mind.

Can you see these stats? These are Pudge's stats.

He was an absolute certainty with the bat (and obviously glove). Everyone knew what he would do and in fact, his numbers were a little down (still amazing for a "defensive catcher"). He was brought in as an offensive threat as much as a defensive one.

And furthermore, Pudge came to Miami because we offered him the most money. Like I (and the Million Dollar Man) said... Everyone's got a price. These players don't give a shit who is signing their paychecks and I would say more often than not, they like their owners. Why wouldn't they?

The only concern about Pudge was his health, though it was a bigger concern than we might remember. His production was unquestioned, but he only averaged 103 game the three years prior.

#Marlins food for thought. On June 17, 2003, Marlins were 34-38, 13 games back.

We'd absolutely have hope if JJ wasn't headed for shoulder surgery and Hanley didn't have a sub .700 OPS.

The Marlins are on pace to commit the fewest errors in the teams history if I'm not mistaken.

Edwin just got ejected in the Tampa game

This is a very small part of managing but I just wanted to say that Edwin is terrible at going ballistic on umpires. He got ejected and didn't even get his moneys worth.

And made it completely obvious that he was trying to get thrown out.

By the way, the no game thread shit is retarded.

                                No, that just sucks.

It's not a premeditated move of stupidity.

Willing to bet he wouldn't have said it if he'd read about JJ's bullpen today.
