They might have, either way they were paying a large amount for someone who wasnt wearing a Marlins uniform.

You're basically saying Beinfest is at fault because he's not the best GM in baseball. Once again, great logic.
Okay if that's the case why does anyone here bitch & moan about the team ? If he's doing such a great job (Cincinnati is another example of a GM doing better than ours in the last few years) then why all the complaints about the team ? I just don't get it. Its Beinfest who puts the team together and not Loria, so why not blame him ?

Before 2010, the Reds has not had a winning season since 2000.

(It's been Jocketty since 2008... so one winning season in 3)

The Todd, Emperor, Erick triple threat match is a doozy.

It's totally Beinfest's fault that the team that was 11 games over .500 suddenly forgot how to hit and pitch.

and also... the following players are not Jocketty's

Joey Votto, Brandon Phillips, Jay Bruce, Drew Stubbs

                  I could keep going

For AAA Volquez (If in fact he was the one that made the trade.)

He did not trade him, although he was an adviser to the president and CEO at that time)

For all the fault that Beinfest gets on the Cabrera trade, those same critics don't really give him deservedly HUGE credit for the Hanley trade.

I mean, how many GMs can get away with trading a certified ace and World Series MVP, shedding $30 million in payroll by packaging the Lowell contract and still end up on the better end of that transaction over the short and long run.

Taking into account the players in that trade and their performance since, here's the breakdown:
Marlins - 38.7 WAR (Total Cost: $31.1 million)
Red Sox - 29 WAR (Total Cost: $116.9 million)
