I think there's a better chance we could get Reyes
I like Reyes, he's a great player, but I don't think he is liked too much around baseball. I don't know what our chemistry would be like with him here.
I'm not sure who you would give for wright, depends on what they want/need and what they currently have in the minor leagues. The Mets have been going through a lot of issues and I think they are very close to start rebuilding that team. Our minor league system is not that strong anymore, and you include Dominguez in a trade for wright.
Wright is only 28 years old and he's owed I think 15 Mil next year and I think he has an option for 2013 for 16 mil; we are going into the new stadium and this is something we can afford.
We need to win now, and Dominguez seems far from ready.

he plays nothing here, since he's not coming here
but in this fantasy world he plays 2B with infante moving to 3B (or, ideally, he plays SS with Hanley moving to the OF, but that's not really something you want to do mid season, especially with Hanley struggling)
anyway wright makes way more sense in a vacuum, since the FA market sucks this year and we will have money to spend next year, but the mets aren't trading wright till after the season and they DEFINITELY aren't trading him to us.Originally posted by Madman81Most of the people in the world being dumb is not a requirement for you to be among their ranks.

he'd cost less than Wright. He's been the MVP in the NL so far this year, but there's no way the Mets re-sign him. He's going to want 5 years and big bucks and the Mets can't commit to either of those things. And there's a chance - albeit a small one - that the new CBA eliminates 1st round picks as compensation. Again, there's literally no chance we get him, but the point still remains.Originally posted by Madman81Most of the people in the world being dumb is not a requirement for you to be among their ranks.

Maybe, only because we're in the division. As far as what he's going to go for I'd guess they get two B prospects and a young but mediocre major leaguerOriginally posted by Madman81Most of the people in the world being dumb is not a requirement for you to be among their ranks.
