  • Injury: Nick Johnson Exits with Hamstring Injury; Placed on Disabled List

Nick Johnson left Sunday's game after one inning with a hamstring injury.
Well, this was long overdue. Johnson had started 104 games this year and hadn't suffered a legitimate injury until now. The Marlins moved Ross Gload to first base to replace him today and put Jeremy Hermida in left field. If Johnson goes on the DL, either Jorge Cantu will move back to first, opening up playing time for Emilio Bonifacio, or Gaby Sanchez could be given an opportunity at the position.

Hopefully he doesn't shoot Fredi in the latrine with his rifle and then shoot himself.

Yeah that's why I was let down when we parted with a pitching prospect like Thompson who we drafted not long ago for him.

                Hope it's not serious...

Thompson's not really any good, though.

Time so far into his career, he has done absolutely nothing and not really impressed at any level

and this is coming from a big Thompson fan

I'm pretty confident that in the end, we came out on top in the deal for Johnson with WAS

Yep, I'd guess we've already gotten more production from Johnson than we would have ever gotten from Thompson. If that turns out not to be the case, IM GONNA BE FUCKING ANGRY. But really, they traded a guy that hasnt impressed for a guy that has gotten on base quite often for a couple weeks and arguable changed the whole complexion of our lineup, it is something they had to do. If Thompson ends up doing anything of value in the bigs, good for him

                              Good news:
Johnson misses Tuesday's game: Marlins 1B Nick Johnson was out of the starting lineup Tuesday to rest a sore right hamstring. Manager Fredi Gonzalez said he was just playing it safe after Johnson left the first game of Sunday's doubleheader against Colorado. "He's day to day," Gonzalez said. "We're just going to take it easy with him."
Johnson has been solid for the Marlins since coming over from Washington and can see use in most deeper mixed Fantasy leagues, when healthy. He should be back in the lineup shortly.

Looks like no DL trip, after all.
