Fredi wouldn't start Cam full time. At most, he'd get some looks vs lefties.
God would be expecting a first pitch breaking ball in the dirt because humans love to disappoint him.

Where is Maybin starting? RF? Sure, bench Hermida against lefties but he's been red hot his last 120 at bats

Ross has played a shitload of RF in his Marlins tenure. It was only because of Maybin's initial departure that he switched to center full time

If Logan's "penciled" in as the 2010 starting 1B, I'd hope we'd consider giving him the call now.

Not that I'm advocating it, but if the plan is to make 1B his job to lose, might as well give him the spot now rather than asking for an on the job training in 2010.

Would be wonderful to actually see Gaby Sanchez get some playing time. The management must absolutely hate this guy.

Logan is a huge part of the future. They're not going to call him up to sit on the bench and I doubt they're going to thrust him into a starting role this late in the season with the playoffs on the line.

Hence why I said if they've got him penciled in next year, give it to him now.

Fredi has already discounted this. In his comments after the game last night, he said that everyone of the September callups will have already been up this year.

The one name that came up that we overlooked was Brett Hayes. If Bake's back is bothering him, they could call up Brett to be to backup catcher.

                          Didn't know that.

Can't say I agree with it, as a matter of fact it makes me angry, but what else is new. Love this team, hate the way it's run.

                              Here's the article on it.

Top prospects Mike Stanton and Matt Dominguez were named to Arizona Fall League rosters on Tuesday, but don't expect them to make their Major League debuts in September.

Major League rosters expand to 40 on Sept. 1, and the Marlins, as always, will select their own group of players to be added. But prior to the opener of a three-game series against the Mets at Land Shark Stadium, manager Fredi Gonzalez said he only wants to bring up players he feels are going to immediately help his team get over the hump and into the playoffs.

And though things can change, he doesn't foresee anybody new -- like Stanton, Dominguez or even Logan Morrison -- being brought up.

"I don't think you'll see anybody that has not been up here already, at one point or another," said Gonzalez, who didn't mention specific players.

"You hate to bring guys to just sit around and take away from the chance of us getting into contention and that kind of stuff."

Players who are not on the 40-man roster would have to be added before being called up.

Last year, the Marlins brought up Robert Andino, Dallas McPherson, Eulogio De La Cruz, Cameron Maybin, Ryan Tucker, Jesus Delgado and Gaby Sanchez after September.

Position players who will likely be back this season are catcher Brett Hayes -- Gonzalez said he's always looking for a third backstop -- and outfielders Brett Carroll, Maybin and Alejandro De Aza, one of which may be the corresponding move if first baseman Nick Johnson is put on the disabled list after Tuesday night's game.

In terms of pitchers, that list could include Burke Badenhop (on the disabled list), Andrew Miller, Luis Ayala, Rick VandenHurk and Tim Wood, among others.
                              Marlins' callups will have experience

Don't wanna bring up guys to just sit around, huh? *cough*Gaby Sanchez*cough*

Not saying they are infallible or anything, but on balance they've got to be doing a lot more stuff right than wrong to have a team with this payroll right in the thick of the WC hunt this late in the season (and generally field a fairly competitive team). I actually think that, considering the resource constraints they operate under, this is one of the best run teams in the league.
