Playing chicken with the Crawford Boxes...pretty badass if you ask me.

Hanley Ramirez said he has no issue with Bill Hall, whose hard slide Friday night injured Ramirez’s left leg.
“I haven’t see the replay yet but my opinion is he was trying to break up a double play. I heard he said you’re supposed to play the game hard and that’s the way he plays,’’ Ramirez said.
Ramirez said Hall told Marlins infielder Greg Dobbs he was sorry for hurting Ramirez.
“He told Dobbs that he’s sorry. But like I said he was trying to do his job, trying to break up a double play,’’ Ramirez said.
Ramirez said he was scared right after the collision happened. He thought immediately about Twins second baseman Tsuyoshi Nishioka, who suffered a fractured fibula Thursday night when Nick Swisher slid hard into him.
“He got me pretty good,’’ Ramirez said of Hall.
Ramirez’s injury was confined to the outside of his lower left leg, right above the ankle.
“(Trainers) said there’s a nerve going throw that side and I think he hit that nerve,’’ he said. “It kind of fell asleep right away so I didnt feel anything. Then there was a lot of pain.’’
Ramirez said he won’t need X-rays.
“There’s still a little bit of pain, a little bit of swelling,’’ he said.
“I can put a little bit of weight on it. I don’t think it’s anything bad. Just a little sore…It’s more stuff and tight since last night.’’
He’s also holding out hope of playing Sunday but agreed that Tuesday in Atlanta is more likely, since the Marlins are off Monday.
“I can’t wait to get back out there,’’ he said. “If I don’t play tomorrow, hopefully I’ll play Tuesday.’’

Maybe I'm not enough of a baseball traditionalist, but I really do not understand why blatantly (and brutally) trying to take out a defenseless fielder--whether it be at second or going into home--has a place in the game and is even lauded as playing good, hard baseball.
Hanley was extremely lucky to escape that with just a contusion.
