  • Capozzi: Marlins Considering Eric Chavez as Insurance Policy

    Rotoworld-

The Palm Beach Post's Joe Capozzi reports that the Marlins are considering signing Eric Chavez as insurance for Matt Dominguez at third base.

There's suddenly a market for Chavez after the 33-year-old put on a better-than-expected display during a recent workout. The Marlins have Emilio Bonifacio and Wes Helms as fallback options if Dominguez doesn't work out, but Chavez could potentially offer a bit more offensively. The Blue Jays and Dodgers also have some interest in the former A. Jan. 30 - 11:45 am et

There's a different Eric Chavez out there than the one who hasn't been even passable since 2007, right?

Yeah, definitely not a "YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS" worthy response.

I don't know if he'll do anything, I just have said we're going to sign him all off-season and I just want him so I can give myself a pat on the back.

Yeah I'm not gonna get too excited about this, but it really can't hurt.

I will give it a yes because in my twisted world it leads me to believe that Wes Helms has fallen out of favor
God would be expecting a first pitch breaking ball in the dirt because humans love to disappoint him.

I can get behind this notion.

Wes Helms actually has to sign off on it first though.

They are just prepping the roster so Helms could step in as manager midseason.

                      Come on guys!

I would find all of that funny if I thought there was a chance Chavez would even be better than Helms.

God dammit Bob. Quit steam rolling threads before they can get off the ground.

I feel cool for being the one to point out to Capozzi on twitter about the initial rumor.
