The bench, at least to start the year, will likely also include Hayes or Davis as they don't expect Baker to be able to throw yet. Not that that helps the bench any.

Yeah, but is likely to go nowhere. I don't see Manny ever agreeing to come off the bench for a team like the Marlins unless we throw money at him (lolz). He is most likely headed to the AL or to a lesser extent a better NL team.

We really need to sign someone. As Festa pointed out earlier, our bench would be Bake, Cousins, and Petey. That's 3 lefties. I don't like that. I don't like Bake being our "lefty off the bench' either. I understand his predicament, but I'd rather that go to someone else (still wishing for Chavez.) We need backup outfielder (RH) though so it won't be two rookies in Petey and Cousins out there.

there is no way a vlad or a manny is going to accept crap money to come off a bench. gotta think there's a gonzo-type signing for a mil. for all the talk the team has done over the years about the importance of having vets off the bench no way helms is "it" this year with all that garbage.

I want me some willie harris. wasn't good last year but that was thanks to a .199 BABIP, and had a .252/.352/.401/.754 slash line 3 years prior. More importantly, can play every position, including CF.
