I think it's got more to do with your comment adding absolutely nothing to the discussion, you haven't eaten a frog, and it's snowing.

I have a reason. Jim Edmonds years of "highlight reel catchers" are nothing but self promotion. 95% of those amazing catches were incredibly routine. He had a nasty habit of slowing down to a trot just so he could make a diving catch. Those kind of pointless theatrics irritate me to no end. Even Cardinals fans were getting fed up with it as he night in night out needlessly risked injury just so he could make webgems and they have an almost inhuman tolerance for shenanigans as long as they are wearing the red and white.

I heard from a scout who works for another NL team that the Dodgers were raving about Eric Chavez's tryout today; he swung the bat well and apparently looked healthy after being put through his paces. Also from the scouting grapevine, it sounds as if there is some pretty strong interest in Chavez elsewhere, but I know that Chavez is really excited about the Dodgers, so I hope that's where he lands.

If spring training rolls around and Chavez is still seeking employment, a MiLB contract wouldn't hurt. He if displays some ability to play a capable 3B it would be an option if Dominguez does not win the job outright.

Same here, he's definitely worth taking a flyer on. I can't see Matt being ready to make that jump to the majors yet. I also don't know how good Chavez might be at 3rd base right now.

No not at all. Even though I only saw a limited sample of Matty D this past season, he's not ready. He has show flashes, but just not yet.
