I think better options are, we should trade Nunez to the Rockies for something like Spilboroughs or wait to see who gets DFA'd, like Ryan Sweeney types.

There is no rush now. There are a ton of options between now and March. Uggla was special as you have to plan payroll around him.

Marlins can never win when it comes to PR. They do the right thing and offer a player more than market value (One of the top 5 biggest contracts in franchise history too. 3rd?) and he turns it down. So they do the only logical thing and trade him. They wait to trade him until the deadline it's 2010 all over again because then they're trapped financially for the rest of the offseason and the Marlins walk out with the same team and same holes in April as they had last year. But no they get blasted as they always do when for once it's not their fault. Most of the same people bitching are the ones that probably weren't going to many games anyways. And they'll be back if/when Marlins start winning.

I'm pretty sure only Hanley (70) and Delgado (52) were above Uggla's $48.... I don't think Fernandez, Brown, or anyone else eclipsed that total. So yea, third.

It was more per year than hanley...so this its not more than hanley isn't entirely valid. But this actually assumes Uggla is able to do simple division. This may not be the case and he may have signed 71 million over 100 years for all we know.
