    • LOL @ Baker. "Respect not money?" Could've fooled me.

Seems that respect is defined as "more money."

      • They turned him from minor league filler into ML all star

He owes them his career, but he doesn't get enough respect lawl

(Funny thing is johnny bake went from minor league filler to ML C too thanks to them. No respect at all!)

            • Not to mention I think a team that has been reluctant to ever lock up someone long term felt it was worth extending an offer like that to him is pretty respectful.

If Infante continues to be the .763 OPS bat he's been with Atlanta (Part of me worries cuz a good deal of that is from BABIP...but it's also due to improved BB/K), and roughly 10 runs better than Uggla will be defensively...that's 1-2 win dowgrade (Depending on if it's '06/'07/'09 Uggla, or '08/'10 Uggla). Can we improve the team by more than 1-2 wins with the free 7-8 mil? We shall see. If it's the Buck signing, then fuck that. The guy is seriously Miguel Olivo 2.0. Horrible K/bb, all he has is power offensively and was good last year cuz a high BABIP, he's a passed ball machine...at least Olivo had a cannon, Buck doesn't have that. Johnnnnny Baaaaaake we miss you.

Also, Infante will be Type B FA, something to at least keep in mind.
Mike Dunn is going to kill people too. I mean, Dunn, Webb, and Mujica has to be like 175 bullpen innings next year and they all are nasty. That has to be neutralizing any offensive decrease... which I don't know if that is going to happen as I expect Hanley to bounce back, Stanton/LoMo to have full years, Coghlan to be more 09 than 10, and Buck, Gaby, and Infante to hold their own.

Dan is great, but it's over. They need another bat to start opposite Coghlan, they need a lefty on the bench, and bringing Ohman back would be nice. If they can do that with Nunez and the $3 million or so they have left to spend, cool.

I think that's a pretty good team going in, especially with Dominguez/Mharinez/Ceda/Cishek/Hand/Jennings lurking AA/AAA

                • Still not a big fan of trading in the division but whatever. I hope this was the best they could get instead of just jumping at the first offer.

                  • Posting again, I don't see your $7-8 million unless we're going over $50.

                    C John Buck $6,000,000
                    1B Gaby Sanchez $420,000
                    2B Omar Infante $3,000,000
                    3B Bonifacio/Dominguez $420,000
                    SS Hanley Ramirez $11,000,000
                    LF Logan Morrison $410,000
                    CF Chris Coghlan $600,000
                    RF Mike Stanton $420,000
                    B Bonifacio/Dominguez $410,000
                    B John Baker $430,000
                    B Wes Helms $1,000,000
                    B Veteran Lefty $410,000
                    B Veteran Outfielder $410,000

                    SP Josh Johnson $7,750,000
                    SP Ricky Nolasco $6,000,000
                    SP Chris Volstad $430,000
                    SP Anibal Sanchez $2,250,000
                    SP Sean West $420,000
                    RP Clay Hensley $1,750,000
                    RP Edward Mujica $1,000,000
                    RP Brian Sanches $430,000
                    RP Ryan Webb $430,000
                    RP Alejandro Sanabia $410,000
                    RP Mike Dunn $410,000
                    RP Veteran Lefty $410,000

                    $46,620,000

I made the "veteran" placeholders league minimum. So we have $3.5 for 3 back end bench/pen spots, and/or, to upgrade West.

Arbitration numbers are rough, could get a little. And I am anticipating Infante to get incentives. So it could be a little more than $4 when the hard math is done. Or, if Buck gets like $4 this year and more later, etc.

                    • more disrespect!

Fredi told Uggla "You won't be able to wear No. 6." Uggla asked why, Gonzalez said, "the guy who wore it had like 2500 wins."
