Then it's odd. So be it. I'm cool with that.

    He still got rocked.
    --------------------
And my post had nothing to do with Tank's numbers for the year. I'm talking like his last 4 or 5 outings.

      it happens...

but you've also been bitching about Tank before him getting shelled by Brian McCann and Co

I just think you're looking for reasons to criticize him. He got a guy out on a hard hit ball. He had the Artist Formerly Known as Jorge Cantu fuck up a potential double play in a recent game. These things have a way of balancing out over the course of a season. Dwelling on one or two bad games is silly.

He had three bad outings in a row before today, and has been mostly lights out vs. LHP this year. You don't like him, and you are overreacting.

I definitely don't like him there is no doubt about that. I don't see how mentioning that he got rocked overreacting to anything though. It's post game discussion. I'm discussing the game.

As far as I'm concerned he's had 4 bad outings in a row. I also think it's a little strange that a saber guy is defending his outing today.

Wouldn't a "SABR" guy tend to look at the whole picture and not get caught up in one AB? I'm defending him because one of the things you have to accept is that sometimes, the game is funny like that, and you get a rocket right at a fielder and you get to trot off the field. Getting hung up on the fact that he gave up one hard hit out to one batter is not what a "saber" guy would do. Is it predictive of future success? No, it's predictive of nothing because it's one AB and is utterly meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

Also, I think it's weird that all you had to say about the game in the post game thread is that Tank got the one guy he faced out and that this is indicative of his suckiness.

If a guy gets a pass for "it was a bloop hit/seeing eye/not hard hit ball/ect", I don't see the problem in railing on a guy who gave up a hard hit out

Also, tank has a 4.61 FIP this year against lefties and 4.17 in his career. His line against is so pretty cuz of that .128 BABIP. Now, his BABIP against lefties would likely be sub-.300, but he's a massive FB pitcher without a great K/BB cuz he has bad control. That's not really the recipe for success

I think these things happen, what's the point in dwelling on them?

I think what Daft is trying to say is that even though the ball was caught, it could have been a hit, there was a small chance

There is a chance anything is a hit.

Not true. Butter is far more important.

                                Thank you.

Yes, my first game post was totally weird. You guys are right. I looked at it again and I myself was like, wtf.

But I like to shadow box with bob sometimes because he uses "saber" (lofl) sometimes but not others and tonight was a perfect example (obviously a micro sample size example) of a "luck" stat. Those of you who saw the play know what I'm talking about.

I love you all. I've had organic vodka and Passion Orange Guava tonight so you know where I'm coming from.

                                Carry on.
