Report: Marlins trade Cantu to Rangers for Evan Reed, Omar Poveda

To be honest, we really don't "need" a prospect that is ready now. Granted, our pitching depth isn't as great as it was in say 2005, but we have a full rotation with West, VandenHurk, and hell, even Villanueva and Miller (shudder) in the wings. It would give us depth for two years down the road.

Runzler and Clayton Tanner are 2 of the guys that we wanted in the offseason when Uggla was rumored going to SF

If Cantu goes there it will probably be for Tanner and another player

I've never liked his consistency either, but damn he's been very good this year. Anyways my guess on a cantu to SF is Dan Runzler.
