Seriously... also if by some miracle Beinfest and Co. are able to get out of this with a Robbie Ross I will pardon them for evarything they've ever done wrong. Ok maybe not everything but 85%.

I hope we trade Cantu to SF while we're playing SF.

Wouldn't be the first time we traded with the team we were playing at the tme. In 2004 we traded for Billy Koch while we were playing the White Sox for Wilson Valdez.

Gordon Edes: following up on what Jayson posted on Cantu and the Rangers, one ML source that I spoke with believes that the Marlins, while still talking with other clubs, will get something done with Texas, as long as commissioner's office signs off on financials in the deal
            http://espn.go.com/mlb/notebook/_/id...trade-deadline

If the commissioners office has to sign off on the deal me likes because that "should" mean we are getting at least C+ prospects

I don't really follow what you're saying, to me it means that we would be sending a large amount of money to Texas (which are the deals that require commish approval) and that would mean we'd likely get a/some better prospects

I would not be happy paying the salary and getting back C+ prospects

The commissioner had to approve the bengie molina trade too, and in that trade the giants were playing for the molina's salary

If we weren't paying Cantu salary I don't even think we would be even getting C+ prospects to be honest. Just one year ago Marinez, Hand, Ceda were all considered C+ prospects so their is value their. Essentially thats like getting (2) 3 or 4 rd picks for a player we will not offer salary arbitration at the end of the year.

If they traded Feliz for Cantu, they should be kicked out of the AL

If Jorge Cantu is traded, #Marlins will use Donnie Murphy & Wes Helms at 3B until LF Chris Coghlan is ready to take over full time

But the only reason a trade would have to be accepted by the commissioner is if more than a million dollars is changing hands. If that's the case it's safe to assume we are getting better prospects than C+

Doesn't the commish's office have to sign off on certain trades involving the Rangers because of their, uh, "bankruptcy" situation?
