I think one need only look at the stands of the park the Charlotte Knights play at to see howfugly this could turn out.

Knuckleballs has a point however. Loria isnt going to own this place forever, and whoever takes it over is going to be stuck with what could very well turn into an art deco eyesore.

I think people who've never visited Miami would be surprised at how very little art deco there is outside SoBe.

I hate the apartment building off 95 where the 395 is that has the giant Brito piece hanging off the side.

Let me clarify my statement, as I was neg rep'd for it. I prefer the brick and mortar look in a stadium. I am very much a "Camden Yards" type. I'm not overly excited about the use of pastels and the "art deco" vibe. I think that there is a limit to the amount of color and artistic expression one can have in a ballpark. I fear Loria is reaching the limit of good taste.
This is a Dolphins town, though.

I think a Camden Yards type of park would be an abject failure in the middle of Miami.

Well, I mean, people would still go, and it would be a cool park, but it would look so out of place.

Ooooooooohhhhhh, I know what you're talking about! I think that is low income housing.

How 'bout that huge sign by the Metro in Dadeland?

We don't even have a warehouse district that resembles that turn of the century brick and mortar look.

A Camden Yards in Miami would be idiotic. From what I've seen this stadium looks exactly like a stadium in Miami should look like. Very contemporary, clean design with a pop of color. It's not art deco. Color =/= art deco.

There's Brito shit at just about every mall in Miami, isn't there?

If you want to spruce up your open public space with something that screams "I have no imagination", Brito's your go to guy.

I was talking about the park and not Miami itself. Everything about this stadium is garish so far. Statues, color mixing, whatever the hell that thing is in CF, aquariums behind home plate.

Its going to be a place that an art person like Loria creams himself over and everyone else just kind of shakes their head at.

I think pretty much everything about it sounds awesome, except for the CF feature.

Then again, I do love art museums.

Yeah, outside of the feature in CF, I think it seems awesome, but again, I'm not from the Midwest where everyone is stuck in the 1950s.

You can buy his crap at one of those annoying center aisle kiosk thingies at Dolphin Mall.
