That doesn't mean he is "crap." He is still capable of putting up an OPS north of .800, which is worth a lot more to us than McCarthy.

Cantu was 21st (out of 23 that qualified) in the majors in OPS last year. That's crap.

Again, just because he wasn't your prototypical 1B doesn't mean he is crap. He is a nice player, and he will be staying at 3B this year, anyway. There is no way that McCarthy would help this team out more than Cantu.
