Something I noticed about our schedule, figured this was as good a place as any to post it:

      Code:
      Month by Month
Split	W	L	RS	RA	WP

      April	14	8	112	105	.636
      May	9	20	119	161	.310
      June	17	11	131	120	.607
      July	14	10	104	88	.583
      August	7	5	80	73	.583
The main culprits of May's debacle being the Rays, Brewers, Cubs, Dbacks and Dodgers - none of which we play from here on out.

Have to love two .600+ months (and one at .583). Gives hope that getting to 90 wins is indeed possible.

I'd also argue that the biggest antagonist in that month was Tampa Bay - we've handled the Cubs, Dodgers, and Dbacks in subsequent series post-May (Arizona and Los Angeles on the road). It was just a crappy month overall.

                            • They have two outstanding starters, but the rest of their rotation is very average. And I mean, they rank near or at the bottom of the league in just about every offensive category. I would think two good pitchers could only carry you so far.

They have two outstanding starters, but the rest of their rotation is very average. And I mean, they rank near or at the bottom of the league in just about every offensive category. I would think two good pitchers could only carry you so far.
You're talking about 2/5 of your rotation almost being an automatic win every turn in the rotation. That's a .400 win percentage right there. The other three are all average, yes...

But you're basically saying, can that 5 man rotation get me 3 wins a turn and with a top two like that, it's a very real possibility that one of the back three does it..

Their bullpen is also pretty cool, so the offense only has to be "good enough" and it is.
