I fully expect him to finish the year with an ERA north of 7 and a WHIP approaching 2, and an OPS against that nears .900.

His ERA was 5.12, his WHIP 1.583 and his OPS against .721.

All told, you overshot your collective predictions by 83 percent.

As bad as James was, you were still about as wrong as you could possibly have been.

I was wrong, but the context I was using 0% chance was when I anticipated the Cardinals and/or White Sox making a serious push to sign/retain him. In that context, if that had happened, the Marlins would have had 0% chance in signing him.

If the Cardinals or White Sox had put offers in, it was 0%. When they didnt, the Marlins became viable.

But no, at the start of free agency, when rumors were swirling that the White Sox would try to retain him or the Cardinals would try to bring him in, in those scenarios, which I was reading at the time, there was 0% chance he would have considered signing with the Marlins.

But given no other team in all of baseball signing him and the Marlins signing him, the Marlins had a 100% chance of signing him.

Otherwise, 0% chance is correct.
