Nick Neidert finally back in AAA.

Impressed with Neidert. 5 scoreless innings. Had a good mix of pitches. He's got kind of a funky delivery where he keeps his right arm very close to his body that makes him hard to pick up it seems. He was able to throw his 92-93 mph fastball by a lot of guys. Had a couple of lapses in command, but was able to hunker down each time and get out without damage. Considering every starter in this series has given up a fair share of runs a scoreless outing is quite impressive.

Neidert was an A- prospect before the injury. He just needs to regain what he had before everything happened. He should be factored into the future rotation.

Plenty of room in a rotation that now has Caleb Smith and four vacancies.

I can't put numbers on that group, but agree that they are top five at A+ level and above. The sleeper that I'm watching is Humberto Mejia, built just like Cabrera with lots of physical upside. He missed a month but just got a few innings with Jupiter. He'll be an ideal candidate for Arizona Fall League, along with Neidert.

Neidert,Devers and VV are likely going to AFL. Along with 2 RP and 1 other bat

Think they might try to "hide" Mejia since he is Rule 5 eligible. Mejia/Stewart are Rule 5 guys so

trevor rogers making his AA debut tonight. solid returns thus far, but obviously not being efficient with his pitch count as you might expect with a guy making his first start at a new level.

Marlins being pretty aggressive with moving up Rogers. I like this new approach as opposed to the old method of waiting forever to move guys performing up levels (cough Josh Willingham cough).

His first appearance in AA was a tester for sure. He struggled with the Biloxi lineup every step of the way - while the relief corps blew them away for the second half of the game.

Christopher Torres has quietly turned his season around. He spent the 1st half of the year hitting .167. He's at .299/.361/.416 in the 2nd half. I thought he was a decent prospect going into the year. Maybe there is still something there.

pablo lopez is not ok. 3rd straight garbage rehab outing. id shut him down, pray he avoids shoulder surgery, and try again in spring training.

just looking at pablo's stats in his previous 2 rehab games as well as tonight. something is not right. i hope he isnt trying to hide something, cause its just putting off the inevitable if he is. I hope my henderson alvarez comp in both pitching style and injury issues doesnt turn out right because he is a legit #3 rotation guy. And from what it looks like he's a really good kid, which sounds ridiculous from me considering im 25 and he's 23. But on top of the fact that we have a ton of good prospects, a lot of them seem like legitimately good guys off the field, which is not common from what i know of some of the guys we have had in recent years.
