Boomer White and the majority of the others on the list. The point is that you never know ... and history reinforces that. Jonathan India from Florida was the guy last year. Drafted very high also.

Yep, Jonathan India, what a huge bust. My point is how is the fact that some voters decided a player was the best in the league that year relevant to Major League success? Let's instead look at the last decade of Top 5 Picks for the SEC, shall we?

2010: Drew Pomeranz - in his 10th year in the big leagues. - 9.3 Career WAR
2012: Kevin Gausman - in his 7th year in the big leagues. - 10.4 Career WAR Mike Zunino - in his 7th year in the big leagues. 7.2 Career WAR
2015: Dansby Swanson - in his 4th year in the big leagues. - 3.9 Career War (finally living up to his potential) Alex Bregman - in his 4th year in the big leagues - 15.5 Career WAR. (one of the best players in the game.
2016: Nick Senzel - having a solid rookie campaign. (60 Fangraphs ranking)
2017-2018: Too early to tell, but Kyle Wright and Jonathan India both very highly regarded prospects.

Varying degrees of success, but they all made it to the big leagues and have at least been solid. You're really reaching on this one Lee. That's all I'm saying.

Not trying to reach ... just maintain perspective. Everyone seems to be giddy over the Bleday pick and penciling him into the Marlin lineup for 2020-21. Same with Sixto Sanchez for that matter. I'm simply saying that a lot can go wrong and often does. Jonathan India is handling A+ FSL pitching almost exactly like Lazaro Alonso.

youre not trying to reach, but you are. also, Lazaro Alonso is 2 full years older than India, why is this concept that age matters so fucking difficult for you to grasp?

Also, alonso is in his second go around at A+, which also for the millionth time, matters.

Anyone know what the holdup is on Bleday signing?

every report from last week after their season ended was that it was pretty much done. Frisaro even went so far as to throw out a specific number from what i can recall on twitter so he should be signed this week id assume.

Don’t have much to add. But apparently the biggest problem is with Misner. He wants more than what’s being offered and they are seeing what is possible.

Exactly the issue. Misner wants 100-200K more than what Miami offered-which means if they give him that they probably can't sign Mokma/Rombach/others. They are trying to get JJ to take less than "agreed" to and help the system out. That plus they are giving the Vandy/Miss St guys some time to relax after playing so much

They don't wanna do this but if Misner refuses to move off his number they could say screw him. Sign Mokma/Rombach/others and get the #35 Pick in 2020 draft. Kinda a showdown right now which is holding up about 6 other guys deals
