thank the lord. Lefty power bat, fast mover. Perfect first pick. Now im cool with whatever they do with the rest of the picks. This was a must though.

Good job not over-thinking this one. Perfect fit for this organization.

any indication of what led to the huge power increase this year as opposed to his freshman and sophomore seasons? Swing adjustment, grew into body more, got stronger?

Seems like you should take a college bat with your # 1 pick more often than 3 times in 23 years (Kotsay, Moran).

          Nice start.

Brinson, Monte, VVM, Scott, probably Osiris, and Bleday. No more outfielders for real now.

Very rare since I've been a Marlins fan have I personally had a guy in mind that I wanted in the draft, and they've taken him. Very pleased.

I thought I read he made an adjustment in the Cape Cod League and has been raking ever since. He was a really good hitter before the power surge, with the power surge he's turned into an elite college bat obviously.

I'm happy. I would have been happier than most of you if Abrams was the pick, but I'd probably have taken Bleday over him, so this works. Of course, the draft is such a crap shoot, who knows what will happen with any of these guys.

Hopefully they'll continue to target power bats.

I’m so happy they took a bat and I’m really happy it was Bleday. Great name for potential chants during our dynasty years.

I liked Abrams, but Bleday is cool as well.

You think Bleday beats the odds? There's always euphoria/high expectations for top draft picks.

How is that list relevant to anything? The SEC produces as much if not more MLB talent than any conference. I'm sorry but saying the odds are against Bleday because 10th Round Pick Boomer White hasn't made the majors yet is laughable.
