Scouting Grades* (present/future): Fastball: 6/7 | Curve 5/6 | Control: 3/5 | Overall: 4/6
This University of Arkansas reliever really impressed during his time in the Cape Cod League, and while he was slowed by a rib cage muscle strain, he was throwing well as the Razorbacks' closer during his junior season.
A bulldog right-hander, Suggs is all power, with a sinking fastball that sits mid-90s and can touch more than that. He complements it with a power breaking ball that can be an out pitch at times. With slightly better command and perhaps a little refinement to his breaking stuff, he has the kind of arm that could close games at the Major League level.
With starter Ryne Stanek a potential early first-rounder and Suggs finishing games off, there were many reasons for scouts to head to Arkansas games this spring.
I've seen him throw a couple times in person last year. He had great stuff and shut down the Gators pretty quickly IIRC but he also wasn't closing at the time.
