Really, 5 million is a big difference for a team. It can be the difference between a average player and a good/great player. I just feel every team should be playing with the same payroll restrictions, regardless of "Cash Considerations".

There is a huge difference in guys that make $5 million and, while the option to try to get the $5 million cap advantage cannot be used by everyone. There are 22 teams in the league so a maximum of 11 teams can use it. In reality, teams don't have $75 million salary caps. It's more like the league has a $1.65 billion salary cap and teams can manipulate it to their advantage.

I think you think a team can use this to have a 100 million payroll. It's a max of 80 (and a min of 70). I can't trade away all my cap space and run a MArlins-esque payroll.

It's not just $5 million you can use for one player, though. You can get 2-3 good players in the $1-2 million range for that extra $5 million. That's 2-3 good players that other teams won't have. It's an advantage for that team.

This is just really awful. Horribly awful. Its been pretty much been proven over and over again why it's not cheating, how it's not unfair, and how there's virtually no difference between that and other forms of trading, but rather it's another option.

For one, 1-2 mil players are basically replacement level players
