A Yankees and Phillies World Series would be kind of ironic. Two northeastern teams playing baseball in November. It'd be like the Snow Series.

It's not like Grady and the pittance they got for Martinez and Lee is going to help them on their road to recovery. Either push all your chips into the center and tear it down or keep the player(s) central to your success, don't go halfway.
Fun Fact: Grady Sizemore's career OPS is higher than Martinez's. And Martinez is basically a half time 1B at this point, and that's only going to get worse as he ages.
He's a 27 year old CFer who had put up .830+ OPSes every year before last season. He's probably overrated defensively, but he's certainly an extremely valuable player. If Cameron Maybin ever becomes what Grady Sizemore is, we might be a perennial WS contender.
Is he a franchise cornerstone like Hanley?
No, but he's under contract until 2012 for no more than 10.5 million in any year (and only that in the final year if he wins an MVP). He's pretty cool to have to put guys around and build a team. I'm not sure you realize how good he is.
Getting rid of an aging catcher who can't play more than half his games at catcher is a good move if you want to rebuild. Getting rid of a 26 year old CFer who had a three year run from 06-08 with an OPS of .879 and who has a reasonable contract is a bad move if you want to rebuild.poop

To sort of get this thread back on track..........
I was really hoping for a Dodgers miracle this year. As some of you may or may not know, the LA Times reported that 2010 will more than likely be Vin Scully's final year as Dodgers broadcaster.
This year is his 60th year with the organization (He called games for the Brooklyn Dodgers). If Broxton had gotten 1 more out, it's a 2-2 series and they would have had a chance to make it to the Series for Vin.
I'm still annoyed.
