That's a lot of money for a 37yo pitcher. He's been quite good in a pitchers park the last two years, I'd be shocked if he statistically "earned" that contract.

Last season the Angels were in some "controversary" when they renewed Mike Trout's contract for just above the league minimum. Today, they renewed his contract for $1 million. He still isn't eligible for arbitration yet. Guess they are trying to kiss his butt so he'll sign a long-term deal.
