Neil Diamond surprised Red Sox fans at Fenway today by showing up and leading the crowd in singing Sweet Caroline. After the song was over, everyone at Fenway broke out in a chant of U-S-A. Quite moving. Here's the link to the article with the video.
I know Sweet Caroline is considered the "Red Sox" song but I have no idea why. Neil Diamond was born and raised in New York City and the song has nothing to do with Boston or even baseball. Why did they pick that to keep playing every game?
