Not so fast.
@JonHeymanCBS: #cubs are indeed talking to anibal sanchez, and have been all winter, but they deny they have a deal done.
@JonHeymanCBS: anibal's agent Gene Mato said he's still talking to other teams. #tigers have been involved all winter, like cubs
@JonHeymanCBS: #tigers are very much in anibal mix, sources say. game not over yet.Last edited by THE_REAL_MIBS; 12-13-2012, 06:03 PM.

Unlike Josh Hamilton, Anibal Sanchez is giving his old team the last shot at his services. After being offered a reported $75 million over five years by the Cubs, Sanchez gave the Tigers one more chance to match the offer, CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman reports.
Detroit had been offering a four-year deal to Sanchez, but in reaction to the offer from the Cubs, the team will likely have to offer five years in order to keep him.
The 28-year-old right-hander went 9-13 with a 3.86 ERA in 31 starts for the Tigers and Marlins. He was 4-6 with a 3.74 ERA in 12 starts after his trade to Detroit.
They think he'll stay with Tigers.

But yeah, they're not very good. Still don't think it would be a bad signing though especially since the free agent pitchers next year are going to suck.
