It might. The difference between playoffs and no playoffs could be one game. Those 2-3 innings could end up being high-leverage innings that have a significant impact on a given game.

Also (this has nothing to do with Bundy, really), I just want to point out that everything has gone right for the Orioles this year.

It's not about being cheap. It's more about rushing a 19-year old with a mile hile ceiling. Rushing him when he's not ready could hurt not only the team but set Bundy back as well. It's really not worth the risk in my opinion.

Hell, look at the Pirates. They haven't had a winning season in almost two decades and have fallen off a cliff this last month but they're not calling up Cole or Taillon and Cole finished the season in AAA and is older and has more experience at the higher levels than Bundy. Taillon has exactly the same 3 AA starts as Bundy.
Maybe they wouldn't have fallen off a cliff if they had called one, or both of them, up though.

      You win when you can.

"We didn't make the playoffs, but we got that extra year for Taillon before he leaves tho" - said no one
      --------------------
Put it this way, if the Pirates felt like Cole or Taillon could have helped them win and they didn't call them up to not start their clocks, they're fucking assholes.

They haven't been to the playoffs in 20 years. Their fans should be fucking furious.
      --------------------
What if the Pirates are never in contention again in the next 5 years?

And that's entirely possible. Young teams don't always improve their win totals.

      • I agree with Hugg, but I also liked the Nats' move to shut Strasburg down.

Consistency is the hobgoblin of small wee-wees.

        • I hate that too. I understand it more, but I think they handled it wrong. Should have skipped some starts earlier in the season or limited him to 5 innings a start or something.

You never pass up a chance to win, because you're never guaranteed the next chance.

Dontrelle Willis had made 6 starts in AA when we called him up.

And if we hadn't, the only good of it would have been Festa only having to complain about 1 banner instead of 2.

Depending on how the offseason goes, I might make that trade.

                  • O's are 24-13 since they "rushed" Machado to the bigs.

He has a .276 on-base percentage, though. I don't think he is the reason they are that record, and I think it is silly to suggest a correlation.

This would make 35-9 in one-run and extra-inning games, in total, without double-counting. #orioles
