111 pitches thru 8 for Weaver
    --------------------
    He did it.
    --------------------
    9ip 0h 0r 1bb 9k (also a dropped third strike) 121 pitches, 77 strikes
    --------------------
Weaver's mom and dad were there. Dad was sipping a beer calmly whenever they showed him on tv. Jeff was not there.
    --------------------
Angels do a very cool thing during postgame. Whoever is interviewed (or maybe this is just for tonight), that audio is blared over the loudspeaker for everyone to hear.

Weaver threw one pitch over 90 mph tonight. It was in the 9th inning.

        Crazy

It's definitely a pitcher's league now. I don't remember a time ever when no hitters were so common.

                    Since 1950, no-hitters per year

                    7 - 2 years (90, 91)
                    6 - 2 years (69, 10)
                    5 - 3 years (62, 68, 73)
                    4 - 4 years (51, 67, 70, 76)
                    3 - 20 years (52, 56, 60, 63, 64, 65, 71, 72, 74, 75, 77, 81, 83, 93, 94, 96, 99, 01, 07, 11)
                    2 - 9 years (58, 78, 84, 86, 97, 03, 08, 09, 12)
                    1 - 17 years (50, 53, 54, 55, 57, 61, 66, 79, 80, 87, 88, 92, 95, 98, 02, 04, 06)
                    0 - 6 years (59, 82, 85, 89, 00, 05)

32 years with 2 or less, 31 with 3 or more. 1990-91 was ridiculous.

I remember heading into the 1990 season, you told me it would be the year of the hitter.

I did... I was on a beach in Tahiti and I saw a bottle roll up on the shore.

There was nothing in that bottle, I just wanted to tell you I was in Tahiti.

Mo Rivera hurt his right knee shagging fly balls in KC. He's on the ground right now

He was running them down, apparently how he likes to get his running in.

Wow, the video that they just showed on YES did not look good. Rivera's knee buckled and he landed awkwardly, and he was in severe pain.
                                ...

Seeing a bunch of writers say it didn't look good. Saying it happened near the warning track. Would really suck for him to go out with this.

Any reporter that's watched Yankee b.p. has seen Mariano Rivera glide around OF like a gold glover. Video on YES of his fall was sobering
