Going through the post-game write ups for the Rangers-Tigers game, I keep seeing every beat writer saying that Darvish has been "As good as advertised since a rough first inning in his first start," or some other variant.

Am I being too harsh, or are they being too lenient? He's allowed like 34 baserunners in 17 innings.

I think he has been not that good at all, since he has given up 34 baserunners in 17 innings.

I find it weird, for instance, that the Associated Press writeup of the game makes no mention of his five walks, If you just read the story, you would think he just had two-hits and dominated. I find that that weird.
