I don't mind it. Faces more batters than the average MVP candidate gets PAs and that's all the award is really about anyway.

          Yeah, but defense and stuff.

If Curtis Granderson and Jose Bautista were on the Tigers, maybe it'd be more acceptable for them to not be good at defense every five days?

I don't understand what you are trying to say.

I'm not going to say "Oh," if that's what you're looking for.

                    You were thinking it.

But also, some of those other top contenders were in the field defensively, but not all that good at it.

Verlander was real good. It is more likely to not be obvious that you're not good at defense if you've got a pitcher dominating the other team.

Wasn't even the most valuable player on his own team. Too funny.

I'm having a very hard time getting worked up about this. It's not nearly as bad as some recent winners.

I just absolutely hate the idea of giving the award to someone who plays once every five days, especially when someone on his own team (Cabrera) was more deserving.

He was more valuable to the Tigers than any other player. I think the team was 25-6 or some thing with him pitching. Also his ERA was like 2 points lower. They aren't where they were without him. Also you can make the same argument with Cabs. But I'm not upset either way.

Bautista, Ellsbury, Granderson, and Cabrera deserved the MVP more than Verlander.
