I'm not sure these things are related.

I think the Marlins would potentially get interested if he'd be willing to take a 2-3 year deal (so he can be a FA again in prime years) if no one will give him the 7+ year deal in free agency.

I don't think anything short of injury can really alter his price at this point. It seems logical evaluation has already been suspended when discussing him.

As for Coghlan,there is alot of thought that we will play him in the minors then around the Trade Deadline use him to get a RP

If Coghlan does end up in the minors as it appears will happen where is the organization going to play him? Does he return to second or continue to play the outfield?
