I disagree. I've talked to the Marlins bullpen catcher a few times and he's talked about guys being really rough down there and then coming out lights out on the mound, and vica versa. I've also talked to Mark Brownson, who pitched (very poorly) in the bigs for a few year, and he's conveyed the same thing.

And my kids are like that constantly, which isn't so surprising, because it's harder for them to repeat their mechanics, but still.
