Cubs get Rizzo from the Padres

Good for Rizzo. He's going to be a good 1B for the Cubs. Not a lot of pressure on him to be the face of a franchise like when he was in San Diego (due to being a centerpiece of the Gonzalez trade), and he's still extremely young and talented.

Paul Maholm broke on his Twitter that he is signing with the Cubs. The official announcement is coming tomorrow.

I also saw that the Tigers and Cubs are "down the road" on a trade that would send Garza to Detroit for prospects.
