Trades That Didn't Happen

I was talking to a scout tonight who I've become friends with over the past few days and he was telling me about trades that almost happened but didn't.

So the Yankees in July of 09 were going to send basically the same package they got for Granderson to Colorado for Huston Street and Carlos Gonzalez. The Yankees balked because they didn't like the sabermetrics.


AND the Dodgers and Royals were discussing a Andy LaRoche for Zack Greinke swap.

I have heard that Bonds was almost traded to the Braves once, it was a done deal but got delayed and then fell apart.

I know it's hard to believe. Remember though it was before Cargo's breakout year and he had already been traded twice. (From AZ to OAK then to COL) so it was evident that not everyone was sold on him.
