I think my offense is really going to struggle. I'm really not sure how I managed to fuck it up so bad, as I really didn't spend much on what I think is a really good pitching staff.

Still it's a head-to-head, weekly 5x5 league, so I only have to win 5.5 categories to get a win for the week (as opposed to a running counter of categories). So I might have enough pitching to get by. Really hoping for bounce backs in the outfield.

Also, I feel like SP is deeper than normal based on the draft I just did and SB are super deep. Have I missed something? Are SB up around baseball?

I'm gonna be weak in BA every week but I feel that my team is solid in HRs, RBis, Runs, and SBs also I feel I am very strong in my 5 pitching categories. Im in a 5x5 h2h league. I think as of right now I have a playoff caliber team. Any thoughts?

BOB I dont think your offense is as bad as you make it seem. Your OF is weak but OF is the one position if you work the wire you can get a solid player. I like your infield. Only thing I can recommend is trying to add some more pitchers and get rid of your extra hitters, unless you start that many hitters.

              2nd round.

It's a keeper league, so almost every team had at least one guy kept from the season prior, so the 2nd round was basically the 1st round. Moustakas was kept, and the other 4 Royals went in the first 12 available picks.

My league is crazy deep. We have 13 teams with 24 man active rosters. We also have 11 reserve rosters. You can keep up to 3 people that you draft in those last 11 rounds. Usually those rounds are a mix of useful guys who dropped for some reason, injured stars, or prospects. The only guy I froze from last year to this year was Ian Kennedy. I could have frozen Carlos Carrasco and Jesus Montero but didn't want to. I was able to snag Strasburg and Moustakas this year, should be a good freeze for next year.

My weakest area is the OF, but I don't like drafting OFers early because they're so variable and relatively easy to find. Andres Torres was a July pickup for me on the waiver wire last year. Jose Bautista was out there till the end of April.

                C: Jorge Posada, Mike Napoli
                1B: Albert Pujols
                2B: Dustin Pedroia
                3B: Adrian Beltre
                SS: Alexei Ramirez
                2B/SS: Tsuyoshi Nishioka
                1B/3B: Scott Rolen
OF: Bobby Abreu, Carlos Beltran, Torii Hunter, Jason Heyward, Drew Stubbs
                UTIL: Erick Aybar, Josh Willingham
Bench: Michael Brantley, Pat Burrell, Ryan Hanigan, Seth Smith, Lyle Overbay, Mike Moustakas

Pitchers (we can use any combo of SP/RP): Jhoulys Chacin, Edwin Jackson, Colby Lewis, Jon Lester, John Lackey, Randy Wolf, Ian Kennedy, Mariano Rivera, Jon Papelbon
Bench: Frank Francisco, Stephen Strasburg, Rafael Soriano, Bud Norris, Tom Gorzelanny

Average closer for a decent starting pitcher on a very good team. Sounds like a great idea.

I mean it really depends on who his other closers are as well (along with his SP and what SP are avail on FA)

Standard 5X5 head to head scoring.

Would you trade Pujols and Reyes for Hanley and Howard?

Reyes and Pujols are gon give you more SBs and higher BA. H2R/Howard probably gives you more HR/RBI.

How does that fit for you?

I'm torn, I screwed up my offense in the draft, thought I could get power late and then ended up chasing it.

                            right now, I have:

                            C-Martin
                            1B-Pujols
                            2B-Phillips
                            SS-Reyes
                            3B-Polanco
                            OF-Granderson
                            OF-Ichiro
                            OF-Stanton
                            U-Soriano
                            U-Helton
                            DL-Sandoval
                            DL-LoMo
                            --------------------
I think I can take the hit in average because I have some pretty high average guys in there, but a real need for the HR, which Howard provides.

I'm leaning against it, but I just wanted to hear a second opinion.

If you think you need power, that will help some. Is Reyes necessary? Try seeing if you can name drop Pujols and someone shitty and keep Reyes.
