Former Mariners designated hitter Edgar Martinez was named on 32.9 percent of Hall of Fame ballots submitted by the Baseball Writers' Association of America, leaving him well short of the 75 percent needed for induction in Cooperstown.
Bert Blyleven (79.7) and Roberto Alomar (90 percent) reached the threshold. They will be inducted July 24. Former Mariners general manager Pat Gillick will also be inducted after behind elected last month by the Expansion Era Committee.
