Former Florida Marlins prospect Jai Miller finally got the call. Miller, who was claimed off waivers by Oakland in Spring training, has been called up by the Kansas City Royals from Triple-A Omaha. Miller was drafted in the 4th round by the Marlins in the 2003 draft and struggled, posting a batting average around .200 up until 2006. In 07, however, Miller slowly started justifying as to why he was a 4th round pick. For Double-A Carolina, Miller batted .261 with 14 bombs. He was added to the 40-man the following year by the Marlins. Miller was called up to the big leagues for one day in 2008 and struck out in his lone at bat and only MLB appearance to date.
The Auburn, Alabama native was claimed off waivers by Oakland out of Spring Training and only batted .118 in 10 games for Oakland's Triple-A affiliate before being claimed off waivers again by Kansas City. In 84 game for Omaha, Miller batted .267 with 18 home runs and 56 RBI.
