I think it's time to expand replay beyond home runs. Start off by expanding boundary calls.

It's a tricky situation because that would involve letting the play go on if you aren't sure? or just treat it like a ground rule double if he called it foul the first time?

I don't know if I'm explaining that in the best way.

You'd have to make everything a ground-rule double or let the play play itself out. Either way is better than fucking douchebags making dumb mistakes and costing people wins and money because of fucking tradition.

Yeah you'd basically have to let shit play out but that's whatever. Replay has been long over due.

Yeah, I dont like people who are against it solely because "mistakes are part of the game"

I'd like to see someone apply this to other facets of life. Imagine if MLB ran an airline:

"Look we know a plane crashed, but who cares, humans aren't supposed to fly anyway, lolz!"

Tradition is cool when it makes sense.

Guys on ESPN saying the ball could have bended around the bag, that is one tight curve ball in such a short span.

I've never seen a ball that bounced fair directly behind the bag called foul.

Worst part of this are Bob Davidson's post game comments. He cemented tool status with those.

It really wouldn't be hard to institute replay on line calls. They could just use the same system they use in tennis.

And, yeah, I really don't get how the guys on ESPN can say that the ball bounced fair before the bag and after the bag and could have crossed the bag foul. Just stupid. I guess the only good thing is that we've been the lead story on Sportscenter all day. That doesn't happen very often.

Its a strange arguement the umpire has. A ball can roll foul all the way until the last min. before it reaches thebag and than roll back in fair we all know that. Are they trained to only watch the bag area and not follow the flight of ball ?

I think one legitimate argument against implementing replay is that it would make an already lengthy game even longer. Baseball games can already run 3.5 or 4 hours, I think people are afraid the use of replay could create 5 hour long games. I understand this argument, but I'm not sure I care. I want umps to get shit right.

But, if they use the same system that tennis uses for line calls, it takes like two seconds. Lengthening the game wouldn't really be an issue.

They do need to find ways to shorten games. They need to limit time outs by the freaking batters and have a clock on pitchers that dick around on the mound. I would also be for limiting leads by runners and also limiting throws to a base.
