PTBNL in the Haren deal is Tyler Skaggs. LHP who just turned 19 and in A ball has put up a 1.21 WHIP with 8.96 K/9, 2.38 W/9, and 51.8 GB%. He's the best prospect in the deal, but he's a long way away from the majors.
Fuck, Haren could have been had for like West/Chad James/some other midlevel pitching prospects.
Really bad deal for Arizona buy they got what they wanted. Pitching
Rodriguez will move into that terrible BP
Corbin and Skaggs are 2 young LHP who could be something in few years
Also talk that Saunders won't be around to long. They are trying to flip him to a team that needs pitching(Dodgers,Minnesota,White Sox) for more prospects
Nothing wrong with it. Start a price, drive it up so when you eventually bring it down, you still get more than you started asking for and make it seem like compromise with whoever you deal with.
Houston - Major League baseball sources told FOX 26 Sports the Houston Astros have a deal in place to trade pitcher Roy Oswalt to the Philadelphia Phillies if Oswalt agrees to waive his no-trade clause.
Sources told FOX 26 the Astros have approached Oswalt. He is aware of the deal that is on the table and the club is waiting for his response.
MLB sources told FOX 26 the Astros and Phillies have agreed on the amount of money Houston will take back in the deal and the two teams have agreed on the players Philadelphia will be sending.
Oswalt is owed about $5 million for the rest of this season.
He will make $16 million next season and his contract has a team option for 2012 worth $16 million with a $2 million buyout.
Oswalt asked the Astros earlier this season to try and trade him to a contender if it is in the best interest of the club.
He is scheduled to start for Houston against Milwaukee Friday at Minute Maid Park.
Oswalt is one win shy of tying Joe Niekro's all-time record for victories in an Astros uniform (144).
