        • In celebration of signing No. 1 draft pick Stephen
Strasburg, the Nationals are offering tickets for just $1
for this Friday's game vs. the Milwaukee Brewers. Tickets
can be purchased online at nationals.com/one beginning at
          Noon today, Wednesday, August 19.

          BUY $1 TICKETS AT 12 P.M. ET >
          http://link.mlblists.com/r/OYOE6H/6U...48918-94855254

An additional 1,000 $1 tickets will go on-sale for two hours
at the Nationals Park Main Box Office at Noon Friday and
will remain on sale no later than 2:00 pm. The Main Box
Office is located to the left of the Centerfield Gate and
          adjacent to Parking Lot C.
A rare good idea by the Nationals.

          • Wow not even the Marlins stoop to those levels. They should use today's proceed for a new mascot costume.

            • I maintain they may win a pennant when they let Teddy Roosevelt win in the President's Race.

              /not serious beef.

              • You'd figure with the coin they shelled to get Strasburg, they'd have boosted ticket prices

                      • Was reading about Sandy Koufax on the interwebs and I found this cool little stat gem:

"In one of baseball's great statistical and score-keeping anomalies, this has been the only nine-inning major league game where both teams combined for one hit. The game's only run, scored by the Dodgers, was unearned.

The Dodger run was scored without a recorded at bat—Lou Johnson walked, reached second on a sacrifice bunt, stole third, and scored when the throw to get him out at third went wild."

In reference to Koufax's perfect game on 09/09/65

                        • That just makes that old joke funnier...

It's something like "A guy tells a bunch of Dodger fans that Koufax/Drysdale has a no-hitter, and the Dodger fans reply 'Yeah, but are we winning?'"
