  • I'm not giving up on Yamamoto just yet, in his bad outings his biggest problem has been lack of command, a lot of walks. Walks were never a problem for him in the minor leagues. I think that's more of an aberration than anything. We still haven't seen a team just wail on his "mediocre" stuff yet, his problems have been self-inflicted.

    • NYY are calling/talking on Caleb and Walker(Nothing close yet) have also asked on Rojas but unlikely
SF has called on few of our guys
TB is looking at Nick Anderson
LAD/Houston/Cubs interested in Conley(no real value)
St Louis and Cincy also talking on few guys with us

Lots of feelers but price is HIGH on lots still

Note on Rojas-some teams see him as a 2B/backup(insurance) SS so u could see a team who needs a 2B connected to him

Thing we got in favor with NYY and Caleb is we are asking for Clint Frazier or Andujar(hearing want Frazier) and lesser stuff while all other teams are asking for Deivi Garcia/Frazier or Andujar and more. These are for FA/1 year left too

Mentioned minor league P for minor league bats before they have a few deals they can do but are waiting to see if they do other stuff first

      • Caleb and Nick Anderson for Frazier and Garcia. I think something along those lines is the only way I'd do it. I wouldn't do a Frazier for Smith straight swap.

Seriously, what's to really like about Frazier? He's hardly the type of athlete the organization announced an intention to focus on. Also hard to see the Yankees going after Smith after dealing him away.

It seems that all the Marlin starters have suffered from the same "aberration." Walk rates for Pablo, Smith, Richards, and Alcantara have all jumped from their minor league level.

I think Frazier's the type of guy if he's the 4th or 5th best hitter in your lineup you have a pretty good lineup. I'd want something a little more if we're going to deal Caleb.

Walk rates going up at the major league level is not a complete surprise, you're facing guys with better plate discipline, but I think with Yamamoto it's a little more than just that. Also, walks being up in the early portion of a pitcher's career is not all that surprising, as he gets used to the hitters and the nerves of playing at the highest level.

I'd trade both of them to the Cubs for Tony Kemp for sure

What happens when teams are asking for lots while teams dont wanna offer it

If u notice almost all trades are 1 for 1 so far

Thanks for explaining to me how trades work. (or don't work)

                      • Gonna end up being Conley/Grandy/Walker and maybe a minor league arm traded.

Tons of Caleb interest but Marlins dont want a good package they want that big time bat
Anderson and Richards getting calls but nothing moving yet

Castro market is dry-they are willing to eat some cash but NOT all of it

                        - - - - - - - - - -

Looks like Milwaukee and Oakland out of pitcher market

Dubon to SF for Pomeranz and Ray Black. Roark to Oakland for Jameson Hannah

They offered him to us for lots of our pitchers(Smith/Richards) and just shows how hot the SP market is #3 Prospect for Pomeranz and #8 in good system for rental

                        • Indians called about Caleb apparently. Saw it on the Twitterverse.

Clev/St Louis/Milwaukee/NYY/TB/Houston have all called on him

Atlanta has also called us on guys but Marlins aren't looking to deal arms to them. Grandy/Walker sure
