I doubt Elieser's numbers will be anything close to his AAA numbers out of the pen

Given that Hernandez has a 1.07 ERA in New Orleans, yes, it's safe to assume that he will not have similar success in Miami. However, he is likely to be an upgrade in either the pen or rotation.

I was referring to his promising peripherals and k and bb rates. I’m sure if he was a 31 year old career minor leaguer putting up those same numbers though you’d be calling him the next max scherzer

ive been consistent the entire time, just because some people want to often be overwhelmingly negative doesnt mean i dont have anything negative to say about the front office. Ive been consistent since the beginning, this rebuild is absolutely the right move and they are doing it in mostly the right way, but they arent infallible and there are things they are continually fucking up, such as the right time to deal assets and how to handle the development and timing of promoting their prospects.

Hernandez is a unique case. As a Rule 5 acquisition, he prematurely spent the 2018 season on the major league roster. He had never pitched higher than High-A previously, and with modest results there. Ideally, he would have spent last year in High-A and AA. Despite his lack of true rookie status as a result, he is really the most accomplished prospect in the system other than Gallen.

Just because you do a rebuild when one is needed, doesn’t mean you’re doing it right.

I would really like the Marlins to get another rookie team in either the Appalachian or Pioneer League if they are truly serious about changing the player development philosophy at the club.

I noticed the Marlins seem to have one less minor league affiliate than other franchises. Is this out of cheapness ? What are the MLB teams responsibilites ? All of the salaries, partial ? etc

What do you think is going to happen to that $38 million if he's on the team for the remainder of the contract? You cant honestly believe we're going to off-load any of that contract. This isn't about wins. It's about changing the culture and rewarding success.

I'd like to see Hernandez keep on starting whether it be in AAA or the majors. If we needed to bring up a reliever I would've rather seen Brigham.

I am thinking of what I would think is a good return for a Urena.

Using Boston as a reference point, I would take a Tzu-Wei Lin/Josh Ockimey/Alex Scherff type package.

Tzu-Wei Lin would be a solid bottom of the order bat who plays good D at SS.

Ockimey would be the headline and reminds me of a young Bour.

Schreff is a project arm.

Again, not saying trade with the Sox, but I think this would be the type of return that would be more than solid. 2 placeyolders that can slot into a lineup right now and a project arm.

They would never go to the Pioneer League but I am with u. I wish they would jump into the Appy League.

2 BIG issues are #1 they don't have enough players. Most teams that are in both the leagues have 2 GCL/AZL AND 2 DSL teams. #2 Most Appy League teams are owned by the ML teams

No we don't. Half the teams actually have 4/5 Rookie Ball teams(They would love 6 but VSL closed) while we have 3

Difference is u can sign more guys(Minor League FA/College FA/HS guys later in draft/IFA) but u gotta pay for stuff which means more $$$

Ahhhhh okay this answers my question. So the more we know, the more the "culture change" isn't really a change other than the face of the franchise, and that hasn't worked out well because Jeter thought people in So Fla would just kiss his ass like they did in NY.

So we are still being cheap & short changing the overall franchise with not enough minor league teams, and stupid people throwing temper tantrums about dogs & losing affiliations with great facilities & great attendance, and ending up in Clinton Ia the baseball equivalent of the Wilderness.

It's just amazing that a franchise can continually self-inflict wounds no matter the ownership or having "supposedly" one of the best "faces of a franchise" that one could want, and is on his way to being almost as despised as Loria....and that's no small feat to accomplish.
