IMO, Spencer and Frisaro seem less in touch with Marlins than the average fan. The chances of Alcantara coming up are zero. Richards was going to be added to the roster on Monday for his start vs. Boston. There was no reason to make that move until then because it allowed the team to carry a fifth OF (Lee) or a third catcher until then. Note: Wallach's 8 K's in two games has to be a record. Why the hell Lee was placed on the roster over Galloway is a mystery to me. Props to Maybin and Rojas for their patience at the plate (six walks between them.)

Lee was on the 40 man roster. Galloway wasn't. So they would've have open a spot for him.

Exactly alot of our problems are with 40 man roster right now.

We have 8 guys hurt/5 others who are in AA and a DFA claim or 2. They don't wanna add guys they could possibly lose in a week or 2 when healthy guys come back or if they get a DFA guy

Mattingly doesn't like Telis behind the plate. This is pretty well know-reason I think Telis is still on roster is #1 he is out of options and #2 Left Handed Bat on bench

That's interesting. I had read that Telis had improved his C skills, but so much for that. Then again, I read that Holaday was the best defensive C with the organization. We will probably get to check him out tonight.

He has improved but Mattingly doesn't really like him. Best Defensive C are Othman and Chris Hoo but neither of them will get about AA because they make Chad Wallach look like Babe Ruth hitting wise. Holaday is best C option we have right now(which is not saying alot)

Mattingly has no problem playing a C who hits .111 as long as he calls a good game and is solid D he is happy. He is the same with SS-he likes defensive guys who don't make stupid plays. If they hit good but if not o well

Its about him being a LHB on the bench that can play multiple spots. We dont have others in system beside Shuck,Adames and Jagielo.

What's missing is a guy like Austin Barnes, who we had. Solid catcher, could play all over, solid bat, and very fast.

Despaigne said he could go - but could you get more than four or five innings? Peters on short rest? You'd still need another guy tomorrow. I would DFA Wallach and bring on Richards today. Can't imagine Wallach being claimed, but what's the difference?

If Telis sole purpose on the roster is left-handed pinch-hitter, he should be the one to go. He can't hit anyway. I mean, Wallach is an embarrassment offensively but if the pitchers like throwing to him (which apparently they do according to Mattingly), then he's more valuable than Telis.

I agree, you just don't see that very often, next day forced into any type of action the game before and then still starting the next game.

Only other bat on 40 man is Sierra. Who do they replace him with? Bench-S Telis/R Rivera/R Holiday/R Maybin/L Lee(who has to play the OF so won't PH with him). Telis sucks but no other options. They could call for Adames but his bat isn't better

They put in claims for 2 or 3 guys and are waiting to see if they get them
